Hi, it's Lindsay Dianne from DianneDecor.com

In this video, I'm going to show you how you can save money decorating your home by using
0:13
the same front door wreath for all four seasons. One of the easiest ways to decorate your entryway is with a nice wreath and a doormat
0:23
But the price of wreaths can go sometimes as high as $200
0:29
On the cheap end, you may be able to find something for $20 or $30, but it won't have
0:34
all the embellishments of a really nice full wreath. And so I found myself over the years making my own wreaths, which is one of the easiest
0:43
DIY home decor projects that you can embark on. But they still didn't have that really great fullness that I wanted while staying within
0:54
a small budget. So what I decided to do was to test out having the same wreath for all four seasons
1:03
What I found was that some of the best options for an all-year-round wreath are either going
1:08
to be something that has a signage on it, so it says hello, it says welcome, it may
1:14
have your monogram on it or your family's last name. Or you can choose a greenery that you see in all four seasons, like eucalyptus or a boxwood
1:27
And so I went on the hunt for an all-year-round wreath, and I'll show you the one that I found
1:32
This is the wreath right here. I got it from Amazon. You can also buy it at Walmart and a few other places
1:40
This guy is about 20 inches. It's a eucalyptus wreath. It has some very details and some little floral details
1:49
But what I like the most was that it has this kind of like wispy texture to it
1:53
It's really kind of whimsical and it is a great neutral base for you to be able to add
2:00
different things to it. And now while of course you can have this wreath up all year round just like this, what
2:08
I did was I gave it four different looks for each of the seasons
2:13
And I did this just by adding a few, and I do mean a few little flowers that went with
2:21
each season and just swapped them out. So let me start by saying this method works really well if you are decorating for seasons
2:30
versus holidays. Now I tend to decorate my home only for the season
2:36
The only holiday that I really decorate for is Christmas. So I do have a separate light-up pine wreath for Christmastime
2:45
But for the purposes of this all-year-round wreath, I use it as it is in its base form
2:52
for winter. So after Christmas, I put up this wreath until spring
2:58
And then in the springtime, I went with a combination of tulips and lilacs
3:06
The tulips were really inexpensive. I bought them from AliExpress a long, long time ago, so I didn't have to purchase anything
3:14
for this. Again, you can find this stuff on Amazon as well
3:18
The tulips that I have are like a latex tulip. They're not silk
3:24
So they have this nice kind of smooth, almost rubbery feeling, that like real-touch feeling
3:29
that they advertise. That's what you get with these. And I like that they kind of flop around
3:35
They have a little bit of weight to them. And they, of course, are going to hold up in the sun, and they're not going to kind
3:43
of get bleached out. You're not going to have to worry about getting them wet, because they are already made of
3:49
like a latex rubbery feeling. Now the lilac stems, I bought literally one bunch of them for $1.25 at Dollar Tree
3:58
And I broke them up, I snipped them apart, and just kind of stuffed them into the wreath
4:04
And that was it. That was my spring wreath. Tulips, lilacs, on top of my plain, all-year-round wreath base
4:13
Now moving from spring into summer, I decided to swap out the tulips and the lilacs for
4:20
some purple hydrangeas. Again, this is another item that I bought from Dollar Tree
4:27
They come about five, with five heads to a stem. I tuck them in
4:31
And let me just remind you that if you want to use the same wreath base all year round
4:37
and just add embellishments, make sure that you're not hot gluing anything in place, because
4:41
you'll end up damaging your wreath base when you're trying to rip off the flowers later on
4:46
So for me, you're gonna see that all I did was I tucked all of the flowers in, I flip
4:52
it over, and then I find a way to twist and tuck and secure the stems in there so that
4:58
they're nice and snug, and when the wind blows they're not gonna fall all over the place
5:02
But I'm not gluing anything, I'm not doing any permanent attachment. When fall came around, I swapped out those hydrangeas for some fall eucalyptus stems
5:14
So these were more of like a burnt orange, rusty, weathered eucalyptus
5:20
And what I did was I just snipped a few pieces from the stems, and I slid the leaves up so
5:28
that they were all kind of bunched up so that I could have these little flourishes of orange
5:32
in the wreath. And then I got this little hello fall sign from Dollar General, I placed it in the middle
5:39
I used the twist ties to secure it to the wreath, and that was it. And that was my fall wreath
5:45
That's the way that you can use the same wreath for all four seasons and still get an updated
5:51
look for each of the seasons. You can get different looks out of the same wreath base by just choosing a few florals
6:00
one or two for the season, tuck them in, and instantly you have this beautiful fall
6:06
wreath that any place else you would have spent $50, $60, $70 for
6:11
