0:02
hi it's lindsy Diane from Dian decor.com
0:04
in this video I'm going to show you how
0:06
I made these easy DIY Dollar Tree floral
0:10
bowls they are perfect for a spring
0:13
centerpiece on your dining table or
0:16
maybe your kitchen counter or even your
0:18
coffee table they're very simple to put
0:21
together and are inexpensive so let's
0:24
get started with the things that you'll
0:26
need so the things that you'll need for
0:29
this project are a pair of scissors or
0:31
wire cutters you're going to need a
0:34
piece of floral foam or two depending
0:37
upon how large your bowl is and then
0:39
you're going to need a shallow bowl you
0:41
can pick this up from Dollar Tree you
0:43
they have large plastic bowls you can
0:46
spray paint them if you'd like to or if
0:48
you want to make a smaller Arrangement
0:50
just get one of their pretty dinner
0:52
bowls and you can put the floral foam
0:54
into that the bowl that I have is from
0:57
Better Homes and Gardens I used a set of
1:00
these on my long dining table and I just
1:03
swap out the flowers from season to
1:06
season I'll give you a closer look at
1:10
bowl this is what it looks like and
1:12
actually it's a planter it's a Better
1:16
Homes and Gardens planter that I got
1:17
from Walmart a few years ago this is a
1:20
very very popular style this footed
1:22
planter you can find it available now in
1:25
store and online I will leave a link in
1:27
the description box below but it is very
1:29
nice it's ceramic it's quite heavy and
1:32
it just is so pretty it's so pretty um I
1:36
want to say it's around5 or $16 but I
1:39
will leave a link in the
1:40
description but again you can buy uh a
1:43
bowl anywhere or if you have one just
1:46
repurpose it for this project the stems
1:49
that I used were the hydranges the pink
1:51
hydranges and I used nine stems of these
1:54
from Dollar Tree and then I have my bowl
1:56
filled with two pieces of their floral
1:58
foam and that that's it so let's jump
2:01
into how I assembled this spring floral
2:05
Bowl so the first thing that you're
2:07
going to want to do is of course remove
2:09
all your sticker tags from your florals
2:12
and then also fan them out just a bit
2:15
for the most part the florals at Dollar
2:18
Tree come five heads to a stem sometimes
2:22
they're four but for the most part
2:23
they're five heads to a stem so before
2:25
you leave the store make sure you double
2:27
check um and look at you know to make
2:30
sure that you have all your stems
2:32
because sometimes they fall off really
2:33
easily they're not glued on there they
2:35
just kind of pop on and pop off so make
2:38
sure that you're getting your money's
2:39
worth and you have five heads to a stem
2:42
again I'm using hydranges but you can
2:43
use pretty much any floral that you'd
2:46
like now the next thing that I'm going
2:48
to do here is once I fan these out I'm
2:51
going to slide the leaves all the way up
2:54
to the top so that they're right
2:55
underneath the flower Bud itself and
2:59
this is going to help help give you a
3:01
Greenery that's going to fill out the
3:03
arrangement once you start sticking the
3:05
stems into the floral foam so your
3:07
leaves will be up top because you don't
3:10
really have a lot of um or really you
3:12
don't want any of the stem showing you
3:15
just want this bowl to appear as though
3:17
it's sort of overflowing out of the pot
3:19
and it gives it a really pretty look now
3:22
that my flowers are ready to go I'm just
3:24
going to take my wire cutter I have an
3:26
easy cutter I find it to be just really
3:29
helpful for craft projects um you can of
3:33
course cut them with scissors just make
3:34
sure you have some good sharp Scissors
3:35
because the wire can be a little tough
3:36
to cut through but it can be done but
3:39
it's much easier on my hands to use the
3:42
easy cutter so I'm just snipping all of
3:44
the stems off and then I'm going to
3:48
start by creating the outer rim of the
4:33
now you'll see here that I have just put
4:36
the two floral Foams into the base of my
4:39
bowl your bowl doesn't have to be
4:41
completely filled out with like a a
4:44
floral foam you can just have enough
4:47
that you're able to stick your stems in
4:49
there I also leave it in the cellophane
4:51
because there's really no need to take
4:53
it out and it gets very very messy and
4:56
crumbly and powdery when you take it out
4:59
and you start sticking stems in there so
5:02
a good hack to keep this a clean project
5:04
and so that you can easily reuse that
5:06
floral foam later on is to keep it right
5:09
in the cellophane and you're going to be
5:10
able to poke straight through it no
5:12
problem it's just a mess-free way to do
5:15
a DIY floral arrangement so you see me
5:18
here sticking the flowers at an angle so
5:22
that the base line all the way around
5:26
the rim is going to be covered with
5:41
and now once the base is complete I'm
5:42
going to start sort of making a spiral
5:45
action and filling in through the
5:50
little again I bought nine stems here
5:54
and I had plenty left over to fill in
5:57
the gaps later on but right now now
5:59
you're just trying to get a little bit
6:01
of a rounded look to the top of your
6:04
Arrangement and then when you're done
6:06
just go go ahead and fill in with any of
6:09
your extra stems any place where you can
6:12
peek down and you see some of the floral
6:15
foam in there you want to go ahead and
6:17
cover that up so that's where you're
6:19
going to look for those spots so that
6:21
you can stuff in an extra floral stem
6:24
here and there because in the end you
6:26
want this to be really nice and full and
6:29
again it's on a dining room table for me
6:32
so I definitely don't want to see any
6:35
bits of the floral foam inside of the
6:38
planter I want it to be fully covered
6:41
and give it a full Lush look and here's
6:44
a look at the final results I ended up
6:46
making two of these for my dining room
6:49
table but for each one I ended up paying
6:52
less than $15 for this arrangement I had
6:55
the bowl already I've had it for years
7:00
and the two floral foam blocks together
7:04
were less than $15 at Dollar Tree this
7:07
is a gorgeous arrangement I might keep
7:09
it around for summer as well it's very
7:12
pretty you can use any florals you can
7:14
have use anything that you have on hand
7:16
you don't have to necessarily go out and
7:18
buy anything you can swap up so I have
7:22
wanted to go for a uniform look that
7:25
only had their hydranges in it but of
7:27
course you can mix up
7:30
hydranges and lavender stems and all
7:33
sorts of things so be creative this is
7:35
an easy DIY project there's not a lot of
7:38
Messa involved and it's a great way to
7:41
add some spring Decor to your
7:44
home that's it for this video I hope you
