0:02
hi it's lindsy Diane from Dian decor.com
0:05
in this video I'm going to show you how
0:07
to make these beautiful hanging florals
0:10
they are perfect for spring Decor
0:13
everything I used was from the Dollar
0:14
Tree you only need a few things to make
0:16
these work and they're a very quick and
0:20
easy DIY so let's jump into the
0:24
tutorial to create these hanging florals
0:27
I used three different items so so you
0:30
need some of the hanging Greenery from
0:34
the Dollar Tree Now The Greenery itself
0:36
does not have any flowers on it at all I
0:39
saw two different types there one that
0:41
was like a green faded to a yellow at
0:44
the tips of the leaves and then the
0:46
other one was a green faded to a white I
0:48
have mixed mine up so I have two that
0:51
are the green to White and one that is
0:53
the green to Yellow because I just
0:55
thought it made an interesting look um
0:58
but whatever you can find will work for
1:00
this if they're all the same that's
1:01
perfectly fine then you want to find two
1:04
different florals for me I used the
1:10
hydranges and I only have one stem of
1:13
each each stem has five heads on it make
1:17
sure you count the heads before you go
1:19
to the register sometimes they fall off
1:22
that's actually part of what makes this
1:23
DIY very easy but um on average most of
1:27
the flowers that come from Dollar Tree
1:29
should have five like flower heads to
1:33
each stem and then the stems are sort of
1:35
connected at the bottom and um you know
1:38
you can cut them off for different
1:39
floral arrangements but in general look
1:43
to make sure that you have all of the
1:44
heads on your flowers so that you aren't
1:46
missing out when you go to check out and
1:50
then I used some of the hanging Greenery
1:54
that's what they're calling it they're
1:55
just calling it hanging Greenery I chose
2:00
in total you're looking at less than $8
2:02
for this entire arrangement of florals
2:05
from the Dollar Tree so let me show you
2:08
how you turn your plain Greenery into
2:11
ones that have the floral buds on them
2:14
now truly to create these hanging
2:16
florals you don't need anything except
2:18
the flowers you don't need scissors you
2:21
don't need glue all you need are the
2:24
flowers and what we're going to do is
2:27
we're going to remove the flower head
2:30
from their stems and then we're going to
2:33
intermittently put them on the hanging
2:38
Greenery ends so you're going to notice
2:41
that at the ends of all the hanging
2:42
Greenery there is just a little top
2:46
where that looks the same as where you
2:48
pulled the flower head from you're just
2:50
going to pull the flower head from its
2:52
original stem and you're going to pop it
2:53
on to the end of The Greenery now the
2:56
trick here to make this a nice even
2:58
Cascade is to vary both your flowers and
3:03
also the positioning of those flowers on
3:06
the hanging Greenery so you'll notice
3:09
that your hanging Greenery has stems
3:12
that end at different
3:14
positions here's a look at the hanging
3:17
floral Greenery now this is one piece
3:20
this is one stem and I have used just
3:24
two of the hydrangea heads here and two
3:28
of the ILX on this one so you can you I
3:33
mean you can make this as full as you
3:34
want to I did not have a lot of um
3:38
flowers left over for my previous
3:40
project so I made mine you know
3:43
basically just like this and I think it
3:45
came out great you don't you really
3:46
don't need a lot the key here is to make
3:49
sure that you are kind of dispersing the
3:53
flowers as they go down the down the
3:55
greenery and also you want to make sure
3:58
that you're mixing up where your of
4:00
color are so another Vine let me show
4:08
you so then here's one that actually
4:11
only has two on it I have one hydrangea
4:17
one lilac and then when you start to
4:19
fold these in together they really
4:24
look and again this is the third one
4:27
that I have and I have more of the
4:31
instead of having the hydranges on the
4:34
tips like I have with the other two I
4:36
went ahead and swapped it up and I put
4:37
the lilacs here and the hydranges
4:40
towards the top so again when you start
4:42
to layer them on top of one another you
4:45
have this just really full pretty look
4:48
the colors are varying and they're
4:50
cascading down from top to bottom and
4:52
then when you flop it into your vase or
4:54
whatever vessel you want to put it in
4:56
you're going to have this pretty
4:59
overflow glowing sort of look so I'll
5:03
show you again all you're doing is
5:04
popping the flower head off of the stem
5:08
and then you're going over to the
5:10
hanging Greenery and you're going to
5:11
just push it right on top of one of
5:14
those little tips you can see them
5:17
they're harder you won't mistake them
5:19
for leaves if you feel them they are
5:20
much firmer than the leaves and they
5:24
kind of come to a little point and that
5:26
makes it really easy to slide the flower
5:29
head right on top and that's all you
5:31
have to do for this project you don't
5:33
have to to glue them they stay very well
5:37
on their own you don't have to snip
5:39
anything you don't have to cut anything
5:41
unless you feel like these are hanging
5:43
too much in which case I would say bend
5:47
the stems at the base or you can cut
5:49
those if you'd like to I usually just
5:51
try to bend my um the base of my stems
5:54
if I want something shorter instead of
5:56
cutting them because I end up reusing
5:58
the flowers for other projects but you
6:01
can always cut them if you'd like and
6:03
then for me I just have this it's
6:05
actually an old hurricane lantern that I
6:09
have taken the candle out of and I went
6:11
ahead and put some like River Rocks at
6:13
the bottom of it and I use it as a vase
6:15
so this is a very simple project it's
6:18
very inexpensive and it will give you a
6:20
unique look that a lot of other people
6:22
aren't going to have because they don't
6:24
actually sell these like that at the
6:26
Dollar Tree this is something that you
6:28
can put together yourself and end up
6:30
with a really beautiful faux floral that
6:32
you're probably not going to find
6:34
anywhere else so that's it for this easy
6:37
spring DIY hanging floral tutorial I
